Jan Aahar Yojana Is Providing Meals To Delhi Poor at Rs10

To celebrate the 93rd birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the South Delhi and North Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC and NDMC) launched‘Jan Aahar Yojana’. The scheme aims to provide meals to people from economically weaker sections at just ₹10.

First floated in the Standing Committee of NDMC, the scheme was followed by the south body as well.

To launch the scheme widely, the kiosks were set up in many crowded market-places, and each was simultaneously inaugurated at 11 am on Dec 25. Senior BJP leaders were present to mark the inauguration.

The Kiosk in North Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh was inaugurated by North Delhi Mayor Preeti Aggarwal. South Delhi has five kiosks, located at -- Okhla Mandi, Matiala Chowk, Green Park near AIIMS, B-1 block old cloth market in Raghubir Nagar and Kakraula Mor near the municipality office.
