Sugar Mills Agree To Supply 140 Cr Litres of Ethanol
After the new policy suggestion to mix ethanol in fuel, the Sugar Industry has entered into an agreement with ethanol and oil industries.
As per the recent agreement, the sugar industry has agreed to supply 140 crore litres to keep up with the need of ethanol.
Of these, the sugar state of the country –Uttar Pradesh --has agreed to provide 55 crore litres of the required ethanol. The state of Maharashtra would provide another 50 crore litres of ethanol and Karnataka would supply another 18 crore litres.
In a connected move, the ethanol manufacturers and sugar-mill owners have also requested the state governments to exempt the ethanol industry from various restrictions and processing-fee.
